Where are you? I can’t find you. Are you under all this fat? Where did my healthy, lean and trim body go to?

If you’re a woman who has left your 20’s behind you and are pushing your way through your 30’s, then you may start noticing how difficult it is to lose weight. The exercise routines you did when you were younger may not have the same effect in helping you to lose weight. Remember when you never had to worry about gaining a few pounds from sporadic eating?

You’re at a place in your life where what you did in your 20’s just doesn’t yield the same results. And this will only increase with each successive year. But don’t despair, there is hope in finding that lovely body that simply went into hiding.

So, what can you do to lose the excess weight? Exercise and eating healthy are the starting steps, but you already knew that. You should also consider asking your doctor to run some tests to check hormone levels. If your levels are out of whack, this can be a contributing factor to weight gain. How are your iron levels? If iron levels are low, this can be a cause of fatigue, which leads to decreased stamina during workouts, or indeed any desire to do what is needed for a healthy body.

Check your thyroid. If it is hypo-active (slow) this is another barrier to losing weight. Check to see if your adrenals are fatigued, another cause of weight gain. All of these tests can be done with lab work. Why is this important? There are several hormones and organs in your body and when they aren’t functioning properly it will be much harder to get your body into the lean and toned shape you are aiming for.

See your doctor before you begin any exercise program. Once you receive your results, if they all turn out great, wonderful. If not, start on the medications your doctor recommends.

If you’re not sure how or what to change within your diet, this is a great time to ask your doctor about a meeting with a nutritionist. Eating balanced snacks will help you shed those unwanted pounds. However, it is quite easy to make simple changes. Increase your fresh fruit and vegetables intake. Decrease the amount of saturated fat you are consuming. Increase the good fats, such as nuts, olive oil and peanut-butter. Be aware of the amount of calories you are taking in. To be successful at losing weight, you need your diet to be rich in proteins, fresh foods, low in saturated fats and low in calories.

Are you getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water? Yes, sleep and hydration are crucial to your weight loss success. We have all been told to drink the recommended 8 ounces of water at least 5 or 6 times per day. Sleep is also very important. Your body and brain need time to recover not only from the increased workouts, but also from the stress of your day. If you are sleep deprived then you are less likely to give your full commitment to finding your healthy body.

Before you know it, your good looking body will come out of hiding. And you will have created a healthy living lifestyle by working out with cardio-treadmills, cycling, running or jogging, weights. You will be improved by strengthening your muscles and creating a lean and toned look, and changing the foods you eat so they work with your goals of weight loss and not against them.

What have you done to try to lose weight? Diet pills and the grapefruit diet? Eating celery and carrots? Mixing those powder drinks into shakes and slipping a bit of ice cream in there just to give yourself some sugar? Have you thought about a colonic to get a quick few pounds off you or even the popular starvation diet, only for a few days just to fit into the sexy little black dress for the party this weekend?

Those might work if you are already thin and you really don’t have a problem with your weight. But then again, if you don’t have a problem with your weight why would try the above mentioned techniques? Sounds pretty senseless to me.

Most of the time those who are overweight will go to drastic measures to lose several pounds really fast. It’s not the way you do this or even whether the pounds stay off forever. It’s what happens in the mind. The moment you step onto the scale and see the number slide down a few pounds. It gives you a psychological boost to think maybe you have what it takes to actually lose the weight you want.

But what is the next thing that happens? You start an exercise program or start with the treadmill. You’re excited to step on the scale at the end of the week. What do you think you find? That’s right, you find not only have the numbers gone back to your original starting weight, they have actually increased.

You step off the scale, give it a little kick, and swear at it like it is the enemy. In fact, you’re sure the scale is your enemy. And as you walk over to the fridge to take out your favorite snack, you swear you’ll never do that again.

You feed yourself all the food you have been craving, especially since you have been starving yourself. And by the end of the week you feel bloated, miserable and constipated. What do you think happens next? That’s right, you try another fad diet. And the yo-yo dieting begins all over again. Lose a few, gain a few, gain a few more, lose a bit more. Give up. And start again.

Is there a better way to lose weight, even for those who need to lose 25 pounds or more? Yes. Now, I bet you have the picture in your mind that I am going to tell you to go and sweat it out at the gym. Imagine carrying your tub of flab to the treadmill while there is a sea of tanned, toned bodies all making working out look easy. You wipe the sweat from your brow.

You don’t have to kill yourself at the gym or bring yourself to the point of passing out while you start jogging for the first time in 20 years. Start easy and start balanced. Maybe all you’re ready for is very light exercise and moderate changes to your eating habits.

Instead of spending your money on eating healthy cookbooks which are great when you are at that place with your fitness goals, next time you go shopping start in the produce aisle and buy three days worth of fruit and vegetables. You don’t need to throw all your food out on the first pass. Start gradually. When you find yourself going to the fridge for ice cream, take out some sweet strawberries or blueberries and snack on those. Buy some pistachios and place them in the cupboards next to the chips and the next time you are looking for something salty, pour a few pistachios onto a small plate and take time to enjoy their taste.

Small steps in your fitness goals will boost your self-esteem and that feeling of “I can do this”. Before you know it all your hard work will pay off and your tub of flab will disappear.

The sport of cycling is gaining in popularity. Besides the casual bike rides we take with our children, significant others, or simply alone, there is also the competitive side to cycling. You can join cycling clubs for any fitness level or type of cycling that you are interested in.

Cycling is not dominated by either male or female genders. It is a great sport for everyone to enjoy. The health benefits are great. Cycling is a great way to build up stamina, strengthen your legs, lungs and heart. It’s also great when you simply want to enjoy nature.

After a long day at work it is nice to switch into something comfortable. Many times after a long day at work we just want to throw ourselves on the couch, grab a beer, and chill out. Those who enjoy casual cycling will enjoy the benefits of taking the bike out and simply peddling. Up the street, to the park, just ride. Peddle the stress of the day away. Your body will appreciate it and you’ll soon find cycling more relaxing than sitting on the couch with no purpose in mind, except to drain that beer you’re holding.

Mountain biking is a great way to enjoy more of the wilderness. There are several different categories for mountain biking. Cross country and trails are where many who love this aspect of cycling spend their time. A few of the other categories include downhill, street riding and dirt jumping.

When you engage in mountain biking you will build your endurance and core strength. Your confidence in balance and self-reliance will increase as you learn to handle a bike specifically made for mountain biking. As you advance your skills in this sport you learn and feel the rush of steep descents with different levels of difficulty. There is no limit to mountain biking. Mountain biking is not just for the mountains, it is also off road biking. Think of it as anything other than street biking.

Olympic cycling is a combination of three disciplines: mountain, road racing and track. Each discipline requires different skill sets and levels of difficulty which include stamina, strength and speed. The difference with road racing is there is a mass start, and the competition is the riders racing against each other for a set distance. During the track cycling event, all the races are done on a smooth oval shaped track that has a steep bank on the ends.

Riding for a cause is gaining in popularity. Cyclists gather to ride set distances and the money raised goes to the charity for the event. Supporting Breast Cancer Research and children’s hospitals are only a couple of the many charities that need help in raising funds. What a great way to take your love of cycling to provide support and marketing for your favorite charity.

Bicycles have evolved with the demands of the sport. Each sport has its own bikes to meet the specific demands that will be placed upon the bike. Cyclists learn how to fix their bike and repair flat tires while in the middle of a race or on the trails.

Can you look at your bike and tell what your personality is? Adventurous yet calm and steady? Love to take risks and can’t wait for the next one? Competitive: you will be number one no matter what the cost? Or are you cool and relaxed, one who enjoys cycling for the pleasure of being outdoors. I am certain if you take a close look at your bike it will match exactly with your personality. Have fun cycling!

There is a saying that baseball is the great American past-time. That may be, but football is definitely a close contender for that honor. From pee-wee to pro, football is a part of our lives, and a fun part at that.

Football is definitely a contact sport. It is also a mental sport. Strong mental focus and awareness are required for this sport as it has both strategy and physical play. It is great to teach those just beginning how to focus on what they want and to work towards the goal of winning. At the same time, football also teaches those beginning how to be part of a team. Football develops the skills to work with each other, to help your teammates in the areas they may struggle, and encourage and support their strengths. When the team wins a game, everyone wins.

There are great physical benefits of football. An intense workout, strengthening your core, legs, and abdominal muscles. You develop stamina and learn how to deal with physical pain. Football is also great for some intense cardiovascular exercise.

As a competitive sport and with the body contact that is involved, the players often risk injury. The quarterbacks are the ones who take the most hits as do the running backs. This is why they wear the padding and gear, to cut down on potential injuries.

For those who enjoy football but do not like the contact aspect of the sport, they have the option to play flag or touch football. This gives the players a great workout while substantially decreasing the risk of injury.

The risk of dehydration is strong as the players begin training when the weather is still very warm. When you add in the humidity with the physical demands of the game, dehydration can happen rapidly. Coaches often remind the players to drink plenty of fluids often before the player even feels thirsty.

As much as parents love to watch their kids in sports, they do need to remember that they are kids. They need to be careful to not push them to standards that are higher than the child’s level of understanding. This is not to say that the child playing football should not reach to push themselves to achieve more than they think they can. Isn’t that what the coaches are for? To see the strengths and weaknesses of the kids and to help them learn how to rise above their own perceived limitations.

Parents have been known to overreact when a call is made or the child does not get up fast enough. Be careful, parents, to know the line between encouragement and support and pushing too hard.

The joy parents have of watching their child play in school football or just starting out is enormous. They cheer, clap and yell their support. Mothers seeing their kid getting knocked down have to hold themselves back from running on the field to see if they are alright. There is much emotion that parents feel watching their child grow out of childhood and begin trying to find themselves and learning to take the hits that come at them.

Football is a great way to teach kids about the “hard knocks of life”. To remind them to get back up when life hits them hard. To remind them that they have what it takes to keep going, even though the odds seem stacked against them.

Strength, stamina, mental strength and teamwork are what football is about. And so is life.

Baseball, the all American pasttime. Hot dogs, beer, nachos, friends, family and a great time. And it all starts with T-ball. Watching the four and five year olds taking up their bat trying to hit the ball off the T and running around the bases to tag home plate. The kids’ excited faces when they connect with the ball and the sad eyes and hung head when they miss.

This is where baseball starts; the young learning what it means to be part of a team. And also learning to be accountable for their choices in the game whether they are batting, pitching or in the field. The parents keep cheering them on. Families and friends are getting together and then gathering after the game to celebrate.

When children are starting out playing baseball, the coaches are working with them to teach team values and that having fun in the game is also important. It is important to teach the kids to be aware of any pain they feel. Just beginning the sport their muscles are not conditioned the way they’ll become later. Parents need to be aware that children starting baseball are more susceptible to broken bones as their bones are still growing. A break in a child may be confused as a sprain. When in doubt take your child to the doctor.

As the kids move through T-ball, through little league and school baseball teams, they have learned valuable life lessons. Which one will move onto pro-league? Every child has the potential. The excitement of the community coming together to support their local baseball teams, and the players being surrounded by positive peer influence is crucial as the players are becoming teenagers and young adults.

Baseball is more than a bunch of guys running around in circles or chasing after a small white ball flying towards them. There is strategy involved. Coaches know many of the strategies, for example, the advantages of having both right and left-handed players on their teams. And they try to make sure the advantages are in their favor such as pitting a left-handed batter against a right-handed pitcher.

Although baseball is a team sport, it also has a few one-on-one battles. For example, the pitcher and batter seeing who can outwit the other and make the best plays. Along with the pitchers and batters, the fielders all act together and independently of each other at the same time. Each member of the team is solely responsible for the choices they make during the game and working as a team to make the win.

This combination of individual responsibility and working together as a team, along with the one-on-one battles is one reason why baseball is great for mental alertness and hand-eye coordination. The players learn how to keep an eye on the ball, the other players on the bases and coaches’ instructions, requiring a player to stay alert and over time their mental agility and stamina increase.

Team sports are great for enhancing and maintaining your fitness goals. Baseball is no exception. This sport gives an excellent workout for your arms and legs. Let’s not forget the aerobic workout you get with all the running involved. Baseball also teaches you how to stretch to warm up your muscles to help prevent injury.

As with exercise and sports, hydration is crucial. With baseball the games are long. Many times they start during the hottest part of the day. Dehydration can lead to diarrhea and vomiting, dry mouth and passing out. Dehydration can be fatal. When you are playing sports remember to drink plenty of fluids.

The sun is staying in the sky longer. The air is becoming warmer with each passing day. The beach is not far from our thoughts. Yes, we close our eyes and see the fun in sun just about here. Then we open our eyes. We look in the mirror and scream “No, not yet, I’m not ready”. We pinch our sides and notice our love handles have grown. Yikes. We stand straight and tall with our legs together and are they, oh goodness, they are touching. When did that happen? You slowly reach down and pinch your thighs. Yep, that is flab. Is that actually a tummy roll? Who came and took over my body during the winter?

You gather together all the magazines for summer looks, quick diets, the perfect exercises to target your specific problem areas. And then you notice a magazine that talks about how to get that bikini body in a healthy way. That’s the one. You’re a health conscious lady who just got a bit side tracked over the winter.

We all know to get tight and toned abdominals; crunches are the gold standard. However, have you considered doing yoga or pilates? Both of these fitness styles will target your core and you will see results faster because you’re working your entire abdominal region. Crunches are great, but have you seen a dancer’s body? Tight and toned and not an inch of fat to be found. The same can be said for yoga, and you get the added benefit of relaxation to boot.

Now, for those thighs there are the standard lunges and lying on the floor and putting your legs in the air and peddling. Or you can pick up your bike, wipe off that inch or two of dust and start using it. The added benefit with cycling is that you’re getting fresh air and sunshine, working your legs, and you feel better after your ride. There is a sense of accomplishment in a great bike ride.

One of the best ways to get the bikini body you’re looking for is to mix up your exercise routine. Do cardio one day, try a bit of weight training at the gym another day, which is great for building muscle and getting that nice lean look you’re aiming for. And then mix it up with some targeted pilates or yoga on other days. Remember to do some well earned stretches before and after your exercise routines. The next step is key and without it you’re cheating yourself from the body you’re looking for: healthy eating.

Healthy eating is not as difficult as it sounds. You can choose to throw away everything in your kitchen cabinets and refrigerator, or you can simply replace the high calorie snacks with fresh fruit and vegetables. Replace foods that are high in saturated fats with those loaded with good fats and low in calories. Start drinking more water, at least five to six eight ounce glasses per day. Eat smaller portions more often throughout the day. This will help you avoid the dips in your energy caused by low blood sugar. Grazing throughout the day will help curb your hunger.

Don’t forget walking every day. You can use small weights that you carry in your hands or on your wrists and legs for an added strength workout. Again, the benefits are you’re losing weight, getting fresh air, and don’t forget to get your friends to join you.

Start shopping around for your favorite bikini. Hang it where you can see it every day. Use this as a motivator to stay committed to your new fitness routine and eating healthy. And you will see the weight fall off before you know it.

Who does not like a bit of comfort food? The saltier, greasier, loaded with starch and carbs the better, right? Well, this type of food makes us feel better within the moment but we come to regret ever letting that stuff touch our lips when we wake in the morning and feel groggy, bloated, and sleepy. Let us take a look at a few tips to eating healthier.

What do you think of when you hear the word protein? I automatically think of red meat. But what is a protein-rich food for in a diet, how can they help with weight loss? Protein is the fuel your muscles need to become strong, firm, and toned. Protein is also what tells your brain you’re full. It is much easier to stay on a healthy diet plan when you do not feel like you are constantly starving. Adding protein helps curb the hunger. A great source of protein is Promax Diet shakes and bars.

Eating several smaller foods throughout the day is advertised in almost everywhere you look. It is true that if you eat between five to six smaller meals throughout the day, also known as grazing your body will not have those low blood sugar dips that often occur when you skip meals. The key to curbing hunger and sustaining your energy level is to consistently keep fuel in your body. Check out the Promax Diet bar.

Have you heard about the good fats and bad fats in a diet? Does it seem overwhelming in trying to figure out which is which? A few good fats are foods include olive oil, peanut-butter, fish, and olive oil to name a few. You want to stay away from processed foods that are often high in saturated fats, calories, and carbohydrates. Our body does not process saturated fats well. You will lose more weight and have increased energy if you provide your body with the good fats as our bodies are able to break those down easier and they will not get stored as fat.

Hydration is a key to any exercise routine or simply making it through your day. The standard recommendation is at least five to six eight-ounce glasses of water per day. A tell-tale sign that you are dehydrated is when you feel thirsty. This is actually the first sign that dehydration is occurring.

Have you entertained the idea of a fat-burner? Thermobol is a fat-burner supplement designed to increase the number of fat calories your body burns each day.

Are you looking to have a flatter stomach and a smaller waistline? Do you find no matter the hours you spend on exercise and diet you are not seeing the results you expect? Include Maximuscle’s fat-loss range as part of your nutrition and exercise program. The weight will begin to drop and inches will fall from your waistline.

The bottom line to losing weight is consuming less calories than your body needs to maintain your current weight. When you combine the decrease in calories with healthy eating and an active lifestyle the only option your body has is to shed those unwanted pounds and inches. At www.maximuscle.com/calories you can find the information you need for calories consumed to achieve your weight loss goals.

The best way to speed up your weight loss and trim that waist line is by keeping fuel in your body. If your body does not have fuel to use to burn fat, it will choose the next thing available and that will be your muscles. Consuming five or six meals per day day is a great way to keep your metabolism at its peak. However, you want these meal to be high in protein and low in fats. A great way to remember this is to eat foods that are natural to the earth, fresh fruits and vegetables, foods that are low in saturated fats and high in good fats. Adding to your diet Promax or Promax Diet will help you in balancing your healthy eating goals. This product helps to preserve muscle while you are decreasing your caloric intake. Another good snack choice is Thermobol and Promax Diet bars.

Start or maintain an exercise routine that meets your fitness level needs. Consistency is important when engaging in an exercise program. Plan to start with three times per week and increase the frequency as you feel the strength in your body increase.

Although I am mentioning hydration last this does not make it the least important aspect of weight training, toning and cardio exercise. Staying hydrated maintains your energy level. Try to drink the recommended five to six eight-ounce glasses per day. You can also choose to add a low calorie re-hydration drink, such as Viper.

As with any exercise routine always check with your medical professional before beginning. This will ensure your body is ready for the strain you will be placing upon it. Remember you are exercising to better your health not make it worse.

In today’s media from magazines to television programs and commercials, the look young girls and women see most is that of athletically toned women. There are numerous advertisers touting their specially brand of pills, creams, and quick fixes to attain that perfect body.

There is more to achieving a healthy body than popping a few quick fix pills or engaging in an exercise routine that does not fit your lifestyle or fitness level. Becoming and staying healthy takes work and dedication.

It is important to exercise at least three times per week. IF you have a gym membership that is great. If not, there are many DVDs available and fitness programs on television that can help you maintain a regular exercise routine. For those who have the Wii, if you do not have the exercise portion of the system, that is a great purchase that allows you to have a bit of fun while toning your body.

To reach your target health goals you exercise program should contain both resistance training and cardio workouts. You want to give your body a full and rounded work-out.

How you eat has a direct impact on how your body stores or burns fat. Many women often use the starvation method to lose weight quickly. And although you may see the numbers decrease on the scale, you may also be losing muscle tone. Then when you begin eating again, your body stores this food as fat because it does not know when the next meal will come.

It is better to eat several small meals per day. Five or six meals is great because it keeps your metabolism from working like a roller coaster. You want your metabolism to remain steady. When it dips low this is due to low blood sugar and results in those sudden cravings for sweets. The sweets give you an instant energy boost but come with the price of ‘crashing’ later in the day.

Add protein to your meal. A small amount of protein with each meal will enhance your workout and you will achieve the toned look and lean muscle that you are working so hard to achieve. Promax is a great product to add to your diet to increase your protein intake. When you combine a fat-burner like Thermobol and Maxi-EFA you will see results sooner than diet and exercise alone.

I am sure you have seen Creatine advertised or in a fitness store or gym. Often it is connected with male and female body builders. This product can help you gain muscle tone by helping you have a workout with more intensity and stamina.
